Problem
This problem is caused by an inspection being identified with the wrong asset id. This can be "self" corrected by the client when/if this error occurs. This problem can happen a multitude of different ways, but the end result is that an inspection exists with an incorrect asset id in ITpipes Mobile. This could happen because the wrong asset was assigned originally to be inspected, the wrong asset id was typed in, the wrong asset was inspected and a user later found out the correct asset id, etc.
When this happens, the problem may be noticed immediately or during the review inspection process.
Solution
There are a couple options to correct this, depending on the scenario:
If the inspection hasn't synced into the central inspection repository, the user can simply update the asset id in the inspection and when the inspection syncs, the inspection will be correct.
If the inspection has already synced into the central repository, the following steps can be taken:
1) In ITpipes Web (central repository) the incorrect inspection must be deleted.
2) In ITpipes Mobile (cctv unit) the incorrect inspection should be re-associated to the accurate asset.
3) When sync executes, the inspection will sync into the central repository with the correct asset ID.
Detailed Instructions:
Delete inspection from ITpipes Web
Confirm the asset (with the inspection) that you want to delete is highlighted.
Select edit inspection.
In the inspection edit view, confirm the inspection to be deleted is visible. .
Select the checkmark to delete the inspection.
On the system that has ITpipes Mobile with the incorrect inspection, locate the inspection tied to the incorrect asset.
IMPORTANT - Verify the correct Asset already exists in the project. If not, a new Asset will need to be created. If the asset already exists, move on to step 3.b
i. Select New asset
ii. Make sure to fill out the required information on the newly created asset.
3.
For example: we want to move the inspection from 1/7/21, not the other inspection.
Select “Tools” located on the upper toolbar
Select “Reassociate inspection”
In the Filter Type in the name of the asset that the inspection will be moved to. In this example it’s called “ASSET2”
Select the Orange Checkmark to move the inspection to the correct asset.
Navigate to the destination asset. Notice the inspection is now joined to the correct asset.
4.) Execute sync again to copy the information to ITpipes Web, this time the inspection will be tied to the correct asset.
